So sorry I've been gone for such a long time. A lot has happened since I last wrote. First and foremost what hampered my writing was the death of my beloved Frankenputer. It was a good computer and served me well over the years. Now it has gone to the great server in the sky to process hopefully for a greater good. I now have a spiffy new computer that I hope will bring many happy years of computing (and photoshopping). I apologize for the long absence and I hope it won't continue on.

I also have a new job (which I hate) that has been eating up a lot of my time. Mainly because I work 2nd shift, which completely sucks. There is a huge epic as to why I have a new job but that will be a different post, a friends only locked one at that.

Hopefully I will be photoshopping and sharing again soon. I had to download CS4 which is completely different than what I'm used to. I miss PS7 very much. It's always good to learn something new. Just I loved my brushes and I'm not sure if the program is backwards compatible.

Just wanted to let you all know that I am alive and well. Still lurking around the cyberworld and hope to continue.

So, that computer crash I've been expecting, well it finally happened. I've had to reinstall Windows like 3 times now. Every time I reinstall I still get weird error messages. Windows won't let me look at one of the partitions on one of my hard drives. It's strange because I can view the one half of the drive with no problem, it's the secondary half that crashes. It gives me a windows explorer error. Of course this is the drive that has most of my pictures on it. =\

I went to reinstall Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro and can't find my backup of brushes on the eternal drive. What I mean by this is the brush folders are there, all the read me info and image packs, just no brushes. So I've been in the very slow process of finding them on the net again and redownloading. I know that some of them will be lost forever. Thsi includes all of my fonts also. I had backups for a reason. Now they are gone. =(

I'm scared to see if there is any corruption or lost data on my music/media drives or in my Icon/wallpaper folders. I don't understand why there would be any loss at all since all this was stored on external hard drives and should not have been affected.

This sucks!!!!! GRRRR!!!!!

I just want to let you all know that I've been having some computer issues. First, my power supply died on me. Now it just locks up for no apparent reason. I'm saving for a new system but don't know how long it will take to get a decent one. I have a habit of overtaxing my systems. =/ I just wanted to give you all a heads up.

I haven't been much inspired lately for icon making but have been inspired to make another graphics community. This community is devoted to period films called period_drama. The community will be for any era up to and including the 1970's. Whether you like Romantic tragedies like Romeo and Juliet, "who done its" like Gosford Park, epic tales such as Troy or Gladitor, or are a enthusiast for Jane Austen, this is the place for you. So I decided to start my own community. The name is cultmovieicons if you would like to join.

I really love participating in the cultfilm_icons icontest challenges but found that there was no place to post actual icon sets for cult films. I did a quick LJ search and found many cult film discussion groups, movie icon communities, and individual movie iconing communities, but none devoted specifically to cult films in general. Over the past few months I have been debating whether or not I should start a this community. I didn't want to tread on the above icontests toes but felt that a place was needed for icons of this type. Finally, yesterday, I decided to do it. And now the community is born.

My question to all my friends who have communities, what next? How do I promote it? Is this a "if you build it, they will come" situation or do I need to promote it somehow?

I would also like everyones help building the master list of cult movies. I think I have a good start but I know that there are tons of littles gems that I am missing. I would also like to know what you think about the community profile and rules. Any feedback is appreciated!

So I've been tossing around the idea of making a screen capture journal to archive all the caps I make. Decided to finally make it today. So, if you want, please visit:

I've added about 12 capture entries so far and will probably add a few more tonight. Just warning so that if you friend it over the nexy day or two , that you will probably be spammed as I archive. =\

I figure this way I'll have a place to add all my captures regardless if I post them at cap_it or not. I cap a lot of stuff that others have capped just because I like extensive caps. Just a word of warning, most of the posts have an excess of 3,000 or more caps. So be sure you have a lot of hard drive space. =)
